The challenge
ivolve had a staff shortage throughout the pandemic. Vacancies rose from 110,000 to 145,000 and staff left the sector. They were relying on underperforming agencies with no visibility of costs and no ability to centrally manage vacancies across their services.
How Care Hires helped
Care Hires was initially deployed at one service. After seeing 100% shift fulfilment and clear visibility of agency spend, ivolve rolled it out across all 145 services by July 2023. The Care Hires team onboarded new agencies, negotiated flat rates and held weekly meetings to identify urgent needs and hotspots.
The results
Agency spend dropped from £340,000 per month to £30,000 per month. All 145 services now benefit from 100% shift fulfilment with an enhanced service at a negotiated flat rate. The recruitment team has improved retention and reduced agency reliance across the business.
